Lunawood x Swissôtel Poiana Brașov
Swissôtel Poiana Brașov collaborated with Lunawood to integrate high-quality, sustainably heat-treated wood into the hotel’s design. Using untreated Nordic pine sourced from responsibly managed forests, Lunawood was applied to facades, ceilings, floor and furniture creating a warm, natural atmosphere enhanced by its unique scent.
Swissôtel Poiana Brașov blends quiet luxury with local heritage, drawing inspiration from Transylvanian culture and using regional materials. The project emphasizes sustainability through eco-friendly design elements, including the use of local artisans, recycled materials, and energy-efficient technologies.
The multisensory scent in the hotel, noticeable as soon as you step into the elevator, is an essential component of the relaxing atmosphere at Swissôtel Poiana Brașov. The wood used in the design is Lunawood, thermally modified Nordic pine sourced sustainably. The patented thermal modification process gives the wood exceptional durability and stability while preserving a natural forest-like scent with notes of honey and flowers. Thermowood is often used in eco-friendly architectural projects for its resistance to harsh weather conditions and sustainability. The panelling in the rooms is made with rustic Luna Layer profiles.
Lunawood’s heat-treated wood is durable, stable, and naturally resistant to decay — without the use of chemicals. This sustainable material perfectly supports Swissôtel’s commitment to environmental responsibility, offering a quiet luxury experience that is also environmentally conscious.
Muzeo Paris x Swissôtel Poiana Brașov
The collaboration between Muzeo Paris and Swissôtel Poiana Brașov brings a fresh perspective to the mountain hospitality scene in Romania. Inspired by the iconic Romanian blue and the surrounding energy of nature, the art collection curated by Muzeo transforms each room into a refined space with contemporary accents and local essence.
The hotel lobby features an authentic artistic interpretation of the brand’s cartography, offering guests a memorable visual experience from the very entrance.
Our hotel’s design is a harmonious blend of contemporary and heritage. A central visual element is the authentic fragments of an old map of Transylvania, dating from 1572, signed by the renowned German cartographer Sebastian Münster.
Münster, a key figure in 16th-century European geography, is known for his monumental work Cosmographia. The map featured in the hotel’s décor is part of his editions of Ptolemy’s Geographia, offering a fascinating perspective on how Transylvania was viewed during the Renaissance.
Thus, Swissôtel Poiana Brașov becomes a sensory and cultural experience, where every detail tells a story.
Viscri Ceramics x Swissôtel Poiana Brașov
Tucked away in one of the smallest and most authentic villages of Transylvania, Viscri Ceramics studio keeps alive a craft that breathes calm, patience and respect for nature.
In a small yet vibrant studio, a young ceramicist — trained in UK with the support of the ADEPT Transylvania Foundation — gave life to a brand that blends quiet refinement with the deep roots of a place where time flows differently.
Viscri Ceramics is built on clear principles: slow living, zero waste and true sustainability. Every piece is handcrafted, glazed with the village’s iconic Viscri blue and unique in shape, detail and its proudly embraced imperfections.
An exclusive collection of cups, bowls, and decorative vessels was created for Swissôtel Poiana Brașov. This collaboration brings together two worlds: the excellent design of Swiss hospitality and the tactile essence of Transylvanian heritage. Together, they shape an elegance that doesn’t boast — it simply feels.
Each Viscri Ceramics piece at Swissôtel quietly tells a story — of place, gesture, roots and the beauty of things that are never rushed.
Atelier Interesart x Swissôtel Poiana Brașov
The collaboration with Atelier Interesart gave birth to a living installation: CanopyNest. Created together with Menthol.ro, the work creates an emotional space in the private spa area — a place where your senses stop running. Where you breathe without even realizing it. Where design becomes a state of being.
When we imagined the visual identity of Swissôtel Poiana Brașov, we knew that nature had to be part of it — not just outside, but inside as well.
With seasonal wildflowers, organic shapes and an airy composition, the installation brings the forest to you. Atelier Interesart brings to the hotel a visual accent and a balanced, lively, and subtle atmosphere — exactly like nature when you look at it closely.
Nicu Bocancea x Swissôtel Poiana Brașov
For Swissmas Magic, we chose to collaborate with Romania’s most awarded floral artist: Nicu Bocancea, who transformed the hotel’s façade into a work of art.
“I wanted to create a multisensory experience that evokes the joy of the holidays and blends the beauty of nature with the sparkle of Christmas,” says Nicu Bocancea. “This is an open invitation for everyone to admire and enjoy this festive moment in Poiana Brașov.”
In partnership with Ferrero Rocher, the façade of Swissôtel Poiana Brașov was transformed into a visual gift — a monumental golden bow, 120 natural fir trees harmoniously integrated into the landscape and lights that breathe along with the architecture.
This is Nicu Bocancea’s signature: elegance without excess, deep respect for nature and a vision that translates beauty into a contemporary language.
Artegianale x Swissôtel Poiana Brașov
The Artegianale Restaurant is a natural extension of the Swissôtel spirit: refined, authentic and detail-oriented. Rooted in Brașov with a strong reputation for creatively reinterpreting Italian and Mediterranean cuisine, Artegianale focuses on quality ingredients, prepared with care and seasonal awareness.
Among its signature delicacies is Romanian caviar from the Piatra Craiului mountains — a rare product sourced from the region’s clean waters. Whether from sturgeon or trout, this caviar reflects the purity of nature and complements a menu dedicated to refined tastes.
The Perfect Steak Experience by Artegianale offers an exclusive selection of USDA Prime beef — the highest quality standard in the U.S. classification. From Rib Eye and New York Strip to the spectacular Tomahawk, each steak is cooked with precision, with a tender texture and intense flavors, accompanied by artisanal sauces and carefully selected side dishes.
This culinary refinement is enhanced by a passion for detail found in their selection of fresh pasta and artisanal pizza. Every pasta dish is prepared using authentic Italian techniques, while the slow-fermented pizza crusts are light, crispy and easy to digest. A well-curated wine selection completes the experience bringing together Romanian terroir and the elegance of Italian wines, ideal for every stage of the meal.
At Poiana Brașov, Artegianale is a place where conversations flow naturally, food is prepared with soul and every meal becomes a meaningful pause.
